a big hello from the founders

of bab'yama wellness hub!

We're Trudy and Isabelle and we're delighted to introduce you to Bab'yama, a small wellness hub nestled in the eaves of one of Berwick-upon-Tweed's many historical town houses a short distance away from the Elizabethan walls and beautiful park walks.

It seems a natural fit. Trood is a well-respected yoga teacher with a 25-year yoga and meditation practice, and Iz is a consultant counselling psychologist with over 20 years' experience in the NHS and privately. Both of us believe passionately about integrative health and helping to empower people to take more of a central role in their own healthcare - mind, body, spirit.

Over the past four years, we've run a number of successful workshops together incorporating yoga and mindfulness, and Bab'yama seems to be an effortless extension of our desire to bring a kinder, more holistic approach to health and fitness to Berwick-upon-Tweed, North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

In case you're wondering, the Bab'yama name is derived from Berwick and Borders Yoga & Meditation, combined with the sanskrit word 'yama', a term in yogic philosophy for "right living" or ethical rules.

Whether you're feeling low physically or emotionally, or you simply want to improve your health and wellbeing and/or socialize, we want you to feel that Bab'yama is a place where you'll be welcomed with respect, care and compassion. And if you're a therapist or wellness practitioner who would like to join us - and we hope you will! - you can relax knowing that you will be respected and welcomed into the Bab'yama Wellness Hub family. We care for the carers!

There isn't a one-size-fits-all to health. We have to find our own path. At Bab'yama, we'll help you hold the torch.
